Probate
Probate is a court-supervised process for identifying, gathering, and distributing assets of a deceased individual to one’s beneficiaries. Often times, a person leaves behind bank accounts and real estate. In order to access the funds in the bank account, the bank may require an order from the courts authorizing access to those funds.
Similarly, a person may leave behind real estate in his or her name. For the beneficiaries to gain ownership, sign leases, enter into contracts, or simply obtain new insurance, the property must be probated. Our attorneys and staff will guide you through the probate process.
